Jake the Beagle, our family dog, is sick and dying.

I have an appointment at 11:30 today at the Vet’s, to put him to sleep.  Of course, before I take him there I will lay hands on him and ask Our Father to restore him.  Jesus prayed to the Father and called Lazarus out of the tomb.  So therefore I can pray to the Father and call Jake the Beagle out of the doghouse.  IF it’s the Fathers will.

Jake and I have always had a unique if not strange relationship. I never looked at Jake as though he was a dog, more like we were equals. We both have gray hair and short legs …

Several years ago a friend from work came by and Jake and I are sitting there sharing BarBQ steak and beer. He thought that was really strange and I guess it is. To me I was sharing with a friend – a family member.

In recent years I have sat next to him and prayed with him.  I have never seen anyone enjoy or accept prayer like Jake.  Faith like a Beagle.  It is really an awesome thing to see the look on his face when you lay hands on him and pray with him.  Faith like a Beagle.  I am sure that he understands and accepts everything I tell him or pray about.  Faith like a Beagle.  I stopped working on the van yesterday and spent some time with him.  Though he could hardly stand, couldn’t walk, he stood up – stood still.  Faith like a Beagle.  He knew that I was there to pray for him.  Faith like a Beagle.  He accepted whatever I said.  Faith like a Beagle.

Today, unless the Father decides otherwise, I will bury Jake.  Brother Jake.  You see Jake is not a dog nor a pet … he is my Brother.  I will commend his spirit to Our Father.  I can see Jesus in his eyes.  Faith like a Beagle. 

I need Faith like a Beagle.  You need Faith like a Beagle.  Sinners and Saints need Faith like a Beagle.  When I look at Brother Jake I see a child.  I see a child with endless faith.  Faith like a Beagle.

Please pray for Brother Jake.
